Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th of August 1956, in Woodland Hills California the youngest and only child of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father worked as an elementary school teacher, while her mother was a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis Kevin is her the third of her siblings. McCormick always enjoyed performing, dancing and creating performances with puppets. Her rise to fame as a fairytale began when she took home her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6. This led to an inquiry from an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who inquired if she'd like to enter the show industry. McCormick was offered her first significant task in 1964 when she starred in a TV commercial featuring Mattels newest doll Baby Pattaburp. McCormick also starred in a commercial in 1964 for Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was cast as the leading character on Wind It up and It is Broken, a show at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the part of the youngest daughter of the trio of towheaded girls in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a new blended family. The show ran for five seasons and The Brady Bunch was an enormous success. In her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the shows fifth season she was close to losing her virginity due to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. The time was when she was 16 and he was 19. The incident could have occurred, she stated, but the time wasn't right for us.
